What's pine tar and why would I want a soap made with
it?
Thick, sticky and not the least bit
pleasant smelling, kiln extracted pine tar comes from
the burning of pine tree sap basically. Retaining
the natural oil of pine which contains strong
anti-septic properties along with trace elements of
sulfur and iodine from the burning process, pine tar
added to soap makes it extremely soothing to dry, itchy
skin. We think it makes a great naturally colored brown to
black soap too!
Pine tar soap is not always easy to make.
It can be very fussy to work with but we believe it is
the best soap we make for dry problem skin types.
