Looking for a daily, gentle bar of soap for your face and body? This is our gentle recipe for lye soap. A long lasting bar of gentle soap perfect for all skin types. This handmade lard lye soap has a moderate lather.


Over time, this soap will become tan to light brown due to the oils oxidizing. It has an indefinite shelf life as many people have been reported to used a bar that is over 5 years old and are still happy with the lather and feel.

4.5 ounce bar.

Ingredients: Lard, Water and Lye (sodium hydroxide).

Traditional Lye Soap

I have been using this soap years. I discovered lye soap at a living history event and it worked so well for my eczema skin that I searched online. I found MoSoap and have returned time-and-time again. I have a great deal of respect for MoSoap and Debora and will continue to use this product as long as I am able. It doesn't dry me out, but it does keep the eczema at bay. I have recommended this soap and site to family and friends. The customer service is exceptional!

Love it!!!

I've used MoSoap for more years than I can count and my skin has benefitted tremendously. My skin used to be dry and itchy through every season, but after discovering Debra's soaps, the itchiness has been long gone. It doesn't dry my skin out or cause any irritation and I use it on my face and body. I would never even think of buying store brands that are made with stuff that I can't even pronounce.
